• Aldar Welcomes Ramadan With Host Of UAE Cultural Activities

Aldar, one of the largest developers in the Middle East and North Africa region, is pleased to announce a diverse array of Ramadan plans across their main retail assets.

Yas Mall prepares to mark its first Ramadan season since opening, with a host of cultural activities for families and residents to enjoy. Visitors to the mall will have the chance to see and contribute to the world’s largest eight metre high money bank, made by AWQAF, along with an Emirati market from which all proceeds will go to charity. Visitors can also enjoy a traditional Majlis, with calligraphy, henna, an Oud player, sougha, dates and coffee, along with a Ramadan Souk which will be hosted in partnership with the Executive Council. Other activities include daily Taraweeh prayers and Holy Quran lessons daily throughout the Holy month, as well as a clothing and monetary donations campaign in partnership with the Emirates Red Crescent.

The Mall at World Trade Center Abu Dhabi, recent winner of the Ahlan! Best Shopping Mall Award in Abu Dhabi, has an exciting schedule of activities planned, including the popular Jahjooh, Fareej and Khousa Bousa characters, who will be entertaining children and families every weekend throughout the month of Ramadan. In partnership with the Red Crescent organisation, a ‘Jahjooh Charity House’ will be set up at The Mall where children can purchase food packages and donate used toys to charity.

Additionally, The Mall at World Trade Center Abu Dhabi will be hosting an Imam every day to lead the Taraweeh prayers, and the mall retailers will be giving out gifts every weekend for the quiz winners. The shopping promotion during Abu Dhabi Summer Season “Shop & Winâ€Â will also be continuing throughout the month, offering visitors who spend over AED 200 the chance to enter the raffle draw for a Mercedes Benz.

A series of activities have also been planned in Al Ain's Al Jimi Mall including Quran memorisation and storytelling sessions followed by interactive questions about the stories with the children. Additionally, Al Jimi Mall will offer Islamic musical band performances and Ramadan cartoon movie screenings for families to enjoy after Iftar. In addition, children can enjoy face painting stations, balloon benders and arts & crafts kiosks every Thursday and Friday from 8:30PM to 11:30PM.

Aldar is introducing cultural activities in its retail arm through Ask Alia, the self-appointed cultural ambassador of the Middle East, who will be touring their malls, Yas Mall, The Mall at World Trade Center Abu Dhabi, Boutik Mall and Al Jimi Mall in Al Ain, with a tailored programme of entertainment for shoppers during the holy month.
