• Catch The Trailblazers Of Modern Arabic Fashion At Abbati 2015

    This Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF), get a taste of modern Arabic fashion at Abbati, which is back by popular demand after its resounding success at the 19th edition of the festival. A coveted fashion platform that puts the spotlight on both regional and local abaya trends, Abbati has emerged as a highly anticipated traditional wear show that includes elegant fashion shows, an exhibition space promoting modernised traditional wear, an interactive workshop and a talk by the Islamic Fashion Design Council for trend-conscious women

    The Abbati 2015 invite-only catwalk shows on 19 and 20 January 2015 at Armani Hotel Dubai will feature collections by Robert Abi Nader, Hania, McQueen, , Bedazzled, and Maha Ghalayini on the first day and ensembles by Kanzi, D.A.S Collection, Nabrman and Lamya Abedin (Queen of Spades) will grab the spotlight on the second day from 6pm to 9pm each day.     With hair and make-up sponsored by Paris Gallery, the spectacular creations on display by these fashion-forward labels will also be retailed in an adjacent exhibition area in the hotel. The exhibition is open to public and will feature, in addition to the designers participating in the fashion show, exclusive ensembles by other modest wear retailers and designers including Amber Feroz, Retro Designs, Elan, Native Dubai, HF Boutique, NAFS Designs, Rawiah Bagabas, WAAD Designs, Endemage, Epiphany and Crystal House. The retail exhibition on 19 January will be held from 4pm – 11pm and on 20 January will take place from 10am to 10pm.

    From 14 to 16 January 2015, shoppers at The Dubai Mall have the chance to catch a glimpse of the exclusive creations that will be presented during the fashion shows at Abbati 2015. A beautiful display in the Souk Atrium will showcase a select few pieces including abayas, kaftans and more, with a display screen offering more information about this year’s participants ahead of the fashion shows.

    A fashion talk on the topic “What’s Changed – The New Muslim Outlook” by the Islamic Fashion Design Council will be given by founder of the Council and acclaimed Arabic fashion expert Alia Khan. The talk will be held at the Armani Hotel on 20 January at 11am. An “Accessory & Jewellery with Swarovski Element crystals” workshop by Crystal House Dubai will take place on 19th & 20th from 7pm onwards.

    Organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), the 20th anniversary edition of DSF will take place until 1 February under the theme “A Journey of Celebrations” – offering citywide events, mega attractions and numerous shopping opportunities and winning options for visitors and residents from around the world.
