Babyshop Launches Informative Guide Offering Expert Advice To First-Time Mothers

Being a first-time parent can be challenging, not just after the baby is born, but right from the outset when learning of the pregnancy. With so much to think about, numerous decisions to make and an excess of opinions and information from different sources, the experience can get rather overwhelming, says Ruban Shanmugarajah, General Manager, Babyshop-UAE.

Shanmugarajah’s comments came ahead of the launch of ‘Mom’s Little Secret,’ a first-of-its kind book in the GCC launched by Babyshop for expecting and new mothers. The book brings together the opinions of 27 experts and features over 40 articles providing expert advice and tips on the various stages of pregnancy and childcare, right from the prenatal period until toddlerhood.

The bilingual book will be available at all Babyshop stores across the UAE from 20 October, 2014. Customers can pick up a free copy at the store and also look out for a special surprise.

Mom’s Little Secret has been categorized into Prenatal, Postnatal, Pediatrics (up to three years), Child Safety and Lifestyle sections. It looks at a new or expecting mother’s every requirement and covers topics ranging from what to pack in a hospital bag to pregnancy dos and don’ts. It also sheds light on the eternal breast versus bottle feeding debate and elaborates on issues such as sensory development, first-aid, post-natal depression and work-life balance.

“The initiative is part of Babyshop’s efforts to provide mothers, particularly first-time mothers, with advice from trusted professional sources on subjects that are extremely relevant.
