• QCC Launches 'Jawdah' Portal At GITEX Technology Week 2014

The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC) has marked its participation at GITEX Technology Week 2014 with the launch of ‘Jawdah’ – a portal that offers easy access to QCC’s technical services and allows users to apply, register and track the status of submitted applications.

Jawdah, meaning ‘quality’ in Arabic, offers stakeholders - including manufacturers, suppliers, exporters, and retailers - a detailed step-by-step guide on how to register for various service categories. The portal integrates QCC’s core services including product certification systems certification, as well as the Emirates Metrology Institute services, legal metrology services and the registration of conformity assessment bodies.

Following the submission of a request for a particular QCC service, the user is kept informed of progress through an email notification at each step of the process - from the point of application and review of the supporting documents until the completion of the requested service. Applicants can also communicate with the portal team for further queries.

Abdullah Hassan Al Muaini, Executive Director of the Conformity Scheme Services at QCC, said: “QCC’s mandate is to ensure quality infrastructure that supports Abu Dhabi’s 2030 vision to create a sustainable, competitive and diversified economy. Towards achieving this priority, QCC seeks to introduce fast, simple, safe and convenient solutions that allow stakeholders to use our services more effectively. The Jawdah portal embeds latest technology and innovative solutions to streamline the entire service delivery process.”

Al Muaini called on stakeholders to actively utilize the ‘Jawdah’ system by registering in the system via QCC website or downloading the application on mobile devices.

QCC’s participation in the GITEX Technology Week 2014 aims to highlight its programs and electronic systems that facilitate enhanced communication with all segments of society. GITEX Technology Week 2014, currently underway at Dubai World Trade Centre, is set to conclude on October 16, 2014.

The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council was established in 2009 to raise the quality of Abu Dhabi’s exports and products traded locally. QCC sets guidelines and benchmarks to identify and verify that products manufactured and traded in the emirate conform to the highest quality standards. As part of its priority to protect the interests of Abu Dhabi’s consumers, QCC enables regulators to establish and implement product safety, legal metrology and conformity schemes.
