Sharjah Fair To Witness Launch Of The World'S Longest Bridal Veil

Perfect Wedding Show to be held at Expo Centre Sharjah from March 5

Celebrating the splendour of the UAE wedding industry, the region’s premier wedding fair, The Perfect Wedding Show, is set to be held at Expo Centre Sharjah from March 5 to 8, 2014.

Targeting a market that has one of the highest average spending for a wedding, the show will cater to the complete requirements of the bride, groom and their relatives, friends and colleagues.

A press conference held to announce the details of the show was addressed by Ms. Lu Buchanan, COO of Expo Centre Sharjah, Mr. Samer Khallouf, Project Manager – MENA of Guinness World Records Ltd., and Ms. Suha A.S. Al Aila, Décor & Project Manager of Rozana hospitality at Expo Centre Sharjah premises on Thursday, 13th February.

“The wedding industry in the region is thriving on a host of positive factors ranging from a young & affluent population to the emergence of the country as a hot wedding destination and its excellent hospitality sector. The Perfect Wedding Show will be the perfect matchmaker for the industry and its target audience,” said Ms. Lu Buchanan, while announcing the attractions of the show.

“A growing economy and upcoming mega events like the World Expo 2020 are set to generate better opportunities, job security, higher pay raises and incentives that will attract younger professionals from across the world to take up jobs in a variety of fields here. This will be music to the ears of the regional wedding industry,” added Ms. Buchanan.

According to projections, the World Expo 2020 itself is expected to generate more than 270,000 jobs in the run up to the event. Besides, consumer expenditure is also on the rise in the country, which is forecast to register a seven per cent rise to US$208 billion this year, underscoring the UAE’s extravagant wedding ceremonies.

World’s longest wedding veil:
For its 9th edition, the Perfect Wedding Show has lined up a series of events and activities aimed at providing visitors with a better picture of what is on offer. A major highlight of the event will be the launch of the world’s longest bridal veil by Rozana Hospitality.

“In collaboration with Expo Centre Sharjah and the presence of Guinness officials, Rozana Hospitality will pay its tributes to one of the oldest traditions of weddings, the veil, by introducing the longest bridal veil in the world at the Perfect Wedding Show,” said Ms. Suha A.S. Al Aila, Décor & Project Manager of Rozana hospitality. “The veil is planned to be five kilo meters long and will be exhibited throughout Expo Centre Sharjah Exhibition halls.” added Ms. Al Aila.

The show will be hosting more than 140 wedding planners, couturiers, men’s outfitters, fashion houses, retailers of bridal wear & accessories, flower and décor specialists, caterers, photographers and leisure consultants from Bahrain, Italy, Lebanon, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the UAE.

“The UAE is home to people from nearly 200 nations, which speaks volumes about the diverse requirements of the wedding market. Keeping in mind their tastes and styles, we have brought together exhibitors from several countries,” added Ms. Buchanan.

Fashion Shows:
An integral part of the Perfect Wedding Show will be daily fashion shows that will feature local, regional and international design houses and designers, who will focus on bridal wear and other wedding attires and accessories.

The list of designers is led by popular names in the fashion world Hani Buhairi and Fouad Sarkis. Other well-known names who have confirmed their presence include Dar Mona Al Mansouri, Dar Sara, Litchi and Emirati designer Aisha Al Muhairi, among others.

The show will also feature a special section for Egyptian furnishings, sponsored by the Egyptian Trade Centre. Other attractions at the show will include special bridal couture shows, fashion shows, cultural parades, live demonstrations of hair-styling and make-up and dance performances.

The gold sponsor of the show is Bubbles Beauty & Fitness, which will give away surprise gifts and prizes to visitors. Visitors can also expect daily raffle draws which will offer fabulous prizes to lucky shoppers.

The Perfect Wedding Show will be held at Expo Centre Sharjah from 5 to 8 March 2014 and the show timings will be from 3pm to 10pm on all days.
