The team is also responsible for providing people with special needs with the necessary support to help them integrate with society and encourage them to participate in various events.

The team has visited the Al Najah Private Rehabilitation Center in Al Ain. For his part, Colonel Ibrahim Al Shamesi, Deputy Director of the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department at Abu Dhabi Police, explained that Abu Dhabi Police is highly interested in people with special needs. He pointed out that communicating with this segment of society improves their self-confidence and gives them the felling that people care about them.

Colonel Al Shamesi asserted that providing services for the disabled has a huge humanitarian implication; it is the personification of the police leadership’s vision of providing support and care to this segment of society. Such services have positive results that leave their impression on the patients and they also foster care and service efforts for the benefit of the disabled.

Furthermore, Colonel Al Shamesi said that the team will visit rehabilitation centers in Abu Dhabi according to a pre-scheduled program. The visits are meant to strengthen social partnership, and Abu Dhabi Police’s communication with various social segments and its participation in all activities and events.

Abdullah Al Kaabi, Director of the Al Najah Private Rehabilitation Center, praised Abu Dhabi Police’s efforts of taking care of the disabled and serving them. He said that the step that the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department made by establishing this team will encourage others to launch similar initiatives that are dedicated to the disabled, and will help provide them with the environment they need in order to integrate with their societies.
