• Confidence High As Thousands Of Emirati Job Seekers Meet Organisations With Career Opportunities

    Thousands of Emirati job seekers have taken to the halls of the UAE’s leading recruitment show with the overall sentiment on the exhibition floor indicating the majority of graduates and candidates are confident of their career prospects.

    Mohammed Al Qaisi, a 22 year old UAE national and recent graduate, visited Tawdheef on its opening day to meet government, semi-government and private institutions. He said: “There are so many exciting career opportunities – whether they are in the public or private sector. Most of the exhibitors have been very informative explaining their openings to me.”

    Inaugurated by His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth & Development, Tawdheef has brought together more than 100 exhibitors which collectively hold more than 6,000 current job vacancies for fresh Emirati graduates and professionals. The show runs until Wednesday 5 February at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

    Also visiting the show was Zahra Al Thani, a 24 year old Emirati job seeker, who said: “The exhibition is a great opportunity for UAE nationals to explore the job market and benefit from the Emiratisation initiatives undertaken by the leading companies in the country. I am glad the show is being exclusively devoted to UAE nationals this year, and I am pretty confident I will find the right career path at Tawdheef.”

    Hayete Jemai, Exhibition Director, Tawdheef said: “The eighth edition of the show has had an incredibly positive start, with thousands of Emirati job seekers walking the halls and meeting prospective employers. We have received positive feedback from the organisations to meet candidates and it seems like the visitors are making the most of their opportunities here.”

    First Gulf Bank, one of the prominent financial participants at Tawdheef, is promoting all its current career opportunities for UAE nationals and providing details on its training and Emiratisation programmes.

    Leading telecommunications provider Etisalat is looking to fill 100 vacancies for UAE nationals throughout their pyramid structured strategy, which aims to recruit Emiratis in every department of the organisation. Younis Abdulaziz Al Nimr, Chief Human Resources Officer, Etisalat UAE, said: “Etisalat is committed to nurturing and developing national talent and we are happy to be part of Tawdheef as it is one of the main sources to recruit talented locals.

    “We are keen to meet ambitious Emiratis who want to be part of an organisation where they can make a real difference and we aim to give them a better understanding of how we recruit for available positions.”
