Etisalat Launches The UAE's First Unlimited Wi-Fi Data Roaming For Travelers

Etisalat, the leading telecom operator in the UAE,today announcedthe UAE’s first eWIFIoffer aimed at providing unlimited Wi-Fidata roaming access, with convenient daily, weekly, monthly options, for customers when they travel abroad.

Through a partnership with iPass – one of the world’s biggest Wi-Fi hotspot aggregator companies with a network of 1.4 million access points across 130 countries– Etisalat will offer travelling customers ease of access and unlimited high-speed connectivity at different places,including hotel and conference venues and global airports. The offer works with both prepaid and postpaid lines.

Subscribers of Etisalat’s roaming packages can avail of the weeklyor monthly access pass. This will enable them to enjoy high-speed internet by subscribing to unlimited Wi-Fi access for AED 100 per month in addition to their weekly/monthly roaming packagesof AED 200 or 500,respectively. Customers currently enjoy 1GB allowance with the weekly data roaming package and 1GB data and 1000 incoming voice minutes with the monthly roaming package. The unlimited and fast Wi-Fi Internet access across iPass network hotspots is available at competitive prices for use on Wi-Fi devices includingall laptops andiOS and Android devices.

To start using the service, customers can download and install Etisalat eWIFI application from the Etisalat website (www.etisalat.ae/ewifi) or selected app stores like iTunes or Google Play free of charge. The customer can text “ id” for daily access or “ ir” for weekly/monthly access from his Etisalat mobile phone (prepaid or postpaid) to 1010 to receive eWIFI login and password.

Customers can subscribe to the eWIFI offer while travelling. Access time begins from the first log-in to iPass hotspots while travelling (so validity for the daily pack for 24 hours begins from the time the user first logged-in).
