• Bee'ah Wins Best Waste Management Company At BGreen Awards

    Beating off a strong competition, Bee’ah, the Middle East’s award-winning and leading integrated environmental and waste management company – has won the Best Waste Management Company award at BGreen Awards for the year 2013.

    At a glittering ceremony at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai, more than 300 industry professionals attended the event such as Dubai municipality, Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce, Standard Chartered Bank and Emirates Transport. Bee’ah, the Sharjah- based environmental and waste management company was bestowed with the Best Waste Management Company of The Year Award for its leading role in providing integrated waste management solutions recognising its successful approach to minimise waste, with a particular focus on the company’s in- house recycling facilities.

    “We have been inspired by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to transform the Emirate into the most environmentally sustainable in the Middle East, Bee’ah aims to achieve a zero waste- to- landfill goal by 2015,” said Khaled Al Huraimel, Group Chief Executive Officer of Bee’ah.

    In 2013, Bee’ah was awarded “Best Waste Management Company in the Middle East” by the Facilities Management Award, for the third consecutive year. Bee’ah has also cemented its position as an industry leader at the Green Middle East Awards for the year 2013 and was awarded the Best Solid Waste Management Company of The Year Award for the second year in a row.

    His Excellency Salim Bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of Bee’ah has been awarded the Environmental Visionary Personality of the Year 2013 for his contributions to raising awareness around environmental issues and influencing the community to make sustainable decisions.

    By the end of 2013, Bee’ah through its division Tandeef will complete the Residential Recycling roll-out plan enabling all households in Sharjah to recycle their waste. By 2014, the company plans to recycle plastics, wood, e-waste and finally Zero-Waste to landfill by 2015.

    This honour comes as an accolade to the commitment of the fruitful partnership between the Sharjah Municipality and Bee’ah in their efforts to make Sharjah at the forefront of the environment. Bee’ah aims for Sharjah to continue leading the environmental change in the region and remain a shining example of environmentally-responsible cities in the world.
