• Shurooq Launches Special Celebratory Programme To Mark UAE's 42nd National Day

    The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority, (Shurooq) has announced that it will mark the UAE’s 42nd National Day with a special celebratory programme featuring a line-up of events and activities involving four vital venues, in addition to Kalba, Al Dhaid and Dibba Al Hisn, along the Eastern Coast of the Emirate of Sharjah.

    The first of its National Day celebration programme will take place at Al Qasba, on 1 December, with spectacular laser light shows for three consecutive days, while 2 December will be dedicated to a dazzling fireworks display. All shows will be held from 6:00 pm-11:30pm daily.

    Taking place at 4:30pm on 2 December, four grand celebrations will be held in Kalba, Al Dhaid and Dibba Al Hisn, while the Heart of Sharjah will see a National Day Carnival, accompanied by folklore musical shows, traditional costumes, Emirati children’s traditional fashion show and competition, an Emirati Souk, a Heritage Studio, a corner for handicrafts and henna and a special corner for children.

    Kalba, Al Dhaid and Dibba Al Hisn will also see the inauguration of flagpoles in collaboration with Sharjah Police, at 4:30pm.

    The flag-raising and National Day celebrations will begin with the UAE national anthem, followed by the oath of loyalty, and then the flag-raising ceremony, accompanied by a musical performance by the Sharjah Police military band.

    The celebration will also feature saluting the UAE flag before it concludes with live musical shows performed by the military band along with all participants in the event.

    On the 2nd and 3rd of December, Al Majaz Waterfront will feature special shows of the Sharjah Musical Fountain and a spectacular fireworks display on 2 December. The shows will take place from 8:00 pm-11:10pm.

    Flag Island, on the other hand will be host to the performance of an operetta titled ?The Story of a Flag - a Nation’s Dream’, in collaboration with the Higher Committee for Celebrating the 42nd National Day in Sharjah, Sharjah Educational Zone and Sharjah Police.

As we are extremely proud of this date, we would like to express our joy and the happiness of our nation and leaders as well as our pride in our flag, which will be flying high on the huge poles in Sharjah’s cities of Kalba, Al Dhaid, and Dibba Al Hisn."
