• "Runway Kids" Fashion Show Held At Sharjah Ladies Club

Under the patronage and presence of Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), Deputy Chairperson of Sharjah Ladies Club (SLC), in partnership with Bloomingdale’s – Dubai, SLC organized “The Runway Kids” Fashion show unveiling the upscale department store’s Autumn/Winter 2013 Children’s Collection.

The event was attended by Amani Al Ali Manager of the Executive Office of Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi, Reem Binkaram, Acting Director of Sharjah Children’s centers and Khawla Al Serkal, Director of SLC along with a number of dignitaries and socialites.

The event also held a silent auction organized by the Department of Children Center of the artwork of the Sharjah International Biennial for Children’s Arts 2012, the proceeds of which will be donated to the “Salaam Ya Sighar” Campaign launched by Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme council for Family Affairs and SLC.

The event included a mix of stunning fashion and fun with the participation of more than 20 children of members and visitors of the club who stood out in the latest and finest designs offered by prestigious international brands, such as Fendi, Mona Lisa, Dolce & Gabbana, Junior Gaultier, Hackett, Aqua, Burberry Children and Paul Smith.

Guests were welcomed by hosts Ali Al Hashmi and Asma Qays, starting off by showcasing the latest children’s collection by kids on the catwalk. The show opened with a collection from Burberry, which included bold and vibrant colors reflecting chic children’s trends. The show also showcased elegant and fashionable dresses for girls.

“We are always keen at SLC to organize a range of events that work to educate and entertain women and children. Our event’s calendar for this year saw a variety of topics such as education, culture, and entertainment; and since the club has held previous fashion shows for women, we wanted this time to organize a special kids fashion show. We tried to elevate our event calendar for this year by adding this fashion show to our list of events and by partnering with Bloomingdale’s – Dubai, which is considered a leading department store both internationally and locally. In addition to the fashion show, we prepared charitable and entertainment activities for the audience to enjoy. Bearing in mind the critical situation of children in countries with unstable political conditions, we also organized a charity auction on sidelines of the show. We hope, on our part, to continue in organizing more of these events which remarks the club’s status as a platform of trends and culture for the ladies in Sharjah”, Said Khawla Al Serkal – SLC Director.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with the Sharjah Ladies Club to highlight the very best of our kidswear collections this season. Playful and chic, these styles are all about approaching fabulous fall fashion with fun! As a department store, we embrace unique opportunities to engage our community audience and feel honored to be a part of this special event for children and parents,” says Dee Sarai, general manager of Bloomingdale’s-Dubai.

In addition to the fashion show and auction, the event continued to entertain with its various activities, including a Zumba show that was held for children by the Fitness 180â—¦ instructors. The children also enjoyed the play area and cartoon characters show which gave them the chance to take fun photographs with their favorite characters, as well as the other many activities that were organized on the day.
