In the spirit of Ramadan, the month of giving, and in line with its commitment to supporting the local community through CSR events, Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (TDA) welcomed 68 children and 25 supervisors from five orphanages for a memorable and fun filled Iftar event at Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Hotel.

The children aged between 6 and 12 years old, arrived at Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Hotel, where an evening of entertainment awaited them. The event was truly pan-Arab, and children from UAE, Pakistan, Yemen, Egypt, Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine, Comoros and Iran all enjoyed making new friends despite cultural and language differences and watching Disney movies together in the ballroom before digging into a delicious Iftar spread with their favourite food.

After everyone had eaten, a magician brought specially from Dubai took centre stage to entertain and amuse the crowd of children. This was followed by face painting and games organised by Hilton Hotels & Resorts Blue Energy team, which supports the local community through a range of activities from charity events to arranging blood donation and clean ups of natural areas. One of the highlights of the evening was the cookies baking class organised by the DoubleTree by Hilton CARE team, which supports the local community with various CSR initiatives. As the evening drew to a close, appreciation certificates were distributed to the kids from the hotel chefs for taking part to the cookies baking class and later Ras Al Khaimah TDA presented gifts to all the children as a souvenir to remember this fun day.

The Iftar was organised by Ras Al Khaimah TDA, supported by the Health Education and Communications Department in the Ras Al Khaimah Medical District that coordinated having children from five different orphanages to the event: Human Appeal International; Bait Al Khair Society; Saqr Charity Society; Red Crescent and Al Rahma Charity.
