• 32 Countries To Participate In WETEX 2013 From 15 To 17 April On Display Area Of 40,000 Sq. M.

    A must-attend event on the calendar of power, water, environment, oil & gas and energy companies, says Al Tayer

    Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has completed preparations for the 15th Water, Energy and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) which will be held under the umbrella of the Supreme Council of Energy for Dubai from 15 to 17 April, 2013, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC), under the theme ‘Sustainable Development for All’.

    Giving details of the major event at a press conference held today in Dubai, and attended by senior representatives of government departments in Dubai and members of the Supreme Council of Energy, HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Supreme Council of Energy and Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, announced that the display area of the show had increased by 22 percent to cover 40,000 square metres.

    Al Tayer said: “On behalf of the Higher Organizing Committee of WETEX, I am pleased to inform you that we have completed the preparations for holding WETEX 2013, 26 days ahead of the event date. WETEX is being organized under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of DEWA.”

    “We are delighted to announce that WETEX 2013 will be held concurrently with the Dubai Global Energy Forum (DGEF 2013), sending a clear message that the UAE in general and Dubai in particular put energy and environment topics on top of their agenda.”

    He added that the 15th exhibition has attracted strong regional, Arabic and international participation from 32 countries where companies and organizations will display a wide range of water, electricity, energy, environment and oil & gas equipment and solutions.

    Al Tayer described the show as a must-attend event on the calendar of power, water, environment, oil & gas and energy companies from the world and the region. He added that holding it concurrently with the Dubai Global Energy Forum (DGEF 2013) is a key strength for both events.

    He added: “Companies participating in WETEX 2013 from 15 to 17 of April will compete to display best of breed technologies and solutions with an aim of boosting their business in the Middle East and North Africa as well as forge new partnerships and seal strategic deals over the three days.”

    Al Tayer revealed that at the show, DEWA plans to sign a number of major contracts in various fields, as part of its firm commitment to provide world-class water and electricity services to its customers in Dubai.

    He pointed out that WETEX 2013 has attracted participation of ministries, government departments and organizations, municipalities, national and international companies and organizations, and public interest organizations concerned with the water, energy, environment issues, oil & gas and energy.

    Over 32 countries are participating at WETEX 2013, which is now in its 15th year, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, Lebanon, USA, Canada, Brazil, Uruguay, Anguilla, France, Netherland, Germany, Spain, Italy, Greece, Finland, Austria, Belgium, Malta, UK, Russia, Malaysia, Turkey, China, Taiwan, South Korea, India, Indonesia, Japan and Iran.

    Al Tayer emphasized that the show will discuss the latest solutions pertaining to green buildings in light of its responsibility to disseminate these technologies that conserve the consumption of energy and preserve natural resources.

    Furthermore, WETEX will discuss international environment issues including climate change as part of its role as a leading show in electricity, water, energy, environment and oil & gas.

    Al Tayer added that the 15th WETEX puts preserving natural resources at the top of its agenda to attain environment sustainability, which won’t happen without the collaborative efforts of the entire community to conserve energy consumption, thus benefiting future generations from these practices.

    WETEX 2013 will tackle important issues related to rapid developments and challenges faced by the sectors of electricity, water, environment, oil & gas and energy as well as identify solutions and practices.

    Al Tayer added: “WETEX 2013 emerged as an ideal platform to showcase and address key issues in water conservation, protecting natural resources and sustainable development.”

    DEWA is participating at WETEX 2013 through a mega pavilion located in Zabeel hall as well as its green buildings booth that is in compliance with highest environment standards. The booth will witness a variety of activities to raise awareness on the importance of preserving natural resources.

    Moreover, on the sidelines of the show, the third SmarTech will be leveraging on the success of its previous two sessions. Al Tayer added that this forum presents an ideal platform to enhance interaction between companies and end-users as well as showcase, promote and market green-centric technologies, goods and services.

    WETEX 2013 has seen a remarkable increase in the number of sponsors. A total of 54 companies have joined as sponsors, compared to 37 sponsors in 2012, a testimony to the show’s reputation as a leading event in water, power and environment technologies, not only in the region but also on the global front.

    WETEX has expanded its traditional specialization in electricity, water, environment to focus on advanced and professional technologies in the field of energy; including fossil fuels, nuclear and renewable energy generation.

    WETEX 2013 will hold a series of seminars and lectures that attract experts and professionals in electricity, water, energy, environment and oil & gas from the public and private sectors to address the growing advancements in these aforementioned sectors.

    On display at the show will be latest products and solutions in electricity, water, energy, environment and oil & gas including agricultural equipment, treatment of salty water systems, lab and testing equipments and modern irrigation systems boilers, pumps, valves, pipes, electric transformers, connectors, energy saving products, generators, power transmission and distribution products.

    WETEX will also feature in its current edition latest technologies in renewable energy in light with the drive of the Gulf countries to adopt these practices to provide electricity with the least possible consumption of natural resources.

    Entrance to the show will be free to enable as many people as possible to benefit from the exhibition specially by visiting SmarTech, which is being held under the theme of ’Think Green. Live Green.

    The forum aims to introduce energy-efficient and water-efficient technologies that help to preserve natural resources for generations to come.

    Through SmarTech, WETEX proved to be a consumer show as much as it is a trade event that targets companies and organizations to enhance partnerships and develop businesses.

    WETEX 2013 attracts specialized electricity, water and environment authorities that look at SmarTech as an ideal platform to interact with customers and look at latest solutions and products that lessen consumption of power and water to the least possible.

    WETEX 2013 will feature latest Fossil Fuels technologies and solutions through a series of sessions to feature latest practices and challenges of this field in the MENA region with the aim of enhancing environment sustainability and moving forward in preserving natural resources for generations to come.
