    The UAE’s Most Beloved Dance Show is Back

    Sharmila Dance presents its 13th annual Dance Extravaganza featuring more than 200 performers presenting an entertaining array of hip-hop, street jazz, contemporary, ballet, break dancing and Bollywood at Centrepoint Theatre, DUCTAC, Mall of The Emirates, April 26th and 27th.

    The Sharmila Dance Extravaganza is a professional showcase of the commitment, passion and talent of the Sharmila Dance school’s students and company of professional dancers. Dedicated to sharing the vitality and delight of dance as a form of art and sport, the Sharmila Dance School offers a range of classes and workshops throughout the year for students of all ages and levels.

    “The Sharmila Dance Extravaganza is meant to be one of the redefining factors that marks Dubai’s dance landscape. For the past 13 years, I have worked to develop the Sharmila Dance school and professional company to fulfill a gap in the community by providing dance enthusiasts with an escape from the mundane into the world of dance. I am proud to present the 13th annual Extravaganza that promises to be bigger and better than ever,” said Sharmila Kamte, Founder, Choreographer and Artistic Director of Sharmila Dance.

    Audience members can expect a collage of choreographies, styles, costumes, music and all other things dance. This is a show for all ages with a diverse selection of performances on one stage giving spectators a fun-filled and exciting experience.

    The Sharmila Dance Extravaganza originally started off as a small street jazz dance show in the Jumeirah Beach Club 12 years ago and has since grown and transformed into one of Dubai’s most sought after dance shows. To meet demands of its growing audience, the Extravaganza moved to Centrepoint Theatre, DUCTAC, Mall of The Emirates in 2007 where it reached new heights with consistently sold out shows and standing ovations over the years.

    Earlier this year Sharmila Kamte produced and directed the second annual Sharmila Dance Gala showcasing the best in ballet, contemporary, jazz, salsa, tango and hip-hop with international and local dance stars presenting a phenomenal celebration of dance for the UAE audience. An exhibition of talent and beauty with stars from the TV hit series “So You Think You Can Dance” and international guest performers from the prestigious Stuttgart Ballet Company, as well as the locally based BNF Dance Company alongside Sharmila’s professional team.
