DEWA Launches App For BlackBerry10
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has launched its application for the BlackBerry® 10 platform. Customers with a BlackBerry® Z 10 smartphone can download the app for free from the BlackBerry® World™ storefront. With this launch, DEWA’s application becomes the first BlackBerry 10 app from a UAE government organisation.
This new achievement is in line with the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to simplify the procedures and services provided by government departments and authorities, as well as automating and integrating them within all DEWA operations
"The widespread adoption of BlackBerry smartphones and flexible development made this an ideal platform for us to launch our app. This BlackBerry 10 Application provides customers with seamless access to their account information where they can enquire about their monthly bills, view DEWA news and events, contact our Customer Care Centres for suggestions and complaints and many more features,” said Marwan Bin Haidar, CIO and Vice President of Information Technology Division at DEWA.
“The DEWA app is already being used on previous BlackBerry platforms and we are proud to be launching it for the re-designed, re-engineered and re-invented BlackBerry 10 platform. The availability of this app will help customers manage their electricity and water requirements on the move from their BlackBerry Z10,” said Chris Corsi, Country Director, UAE, Oman and Pakistan at BlackBerry.
