• Dubai Municipality Issues New Corporate Creativity And Excellence Policy

Based on the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai to promote the creativity and spread the culture of excellence in the society, the knowledge Management Department of Dubai Municipality has issued the updated corporate creativity and excellence policy.

This was stated by Eng. Hussain Nassir Lootah Director General of Dubai Municipality. He said the municipality was keen to update corporate creativity and excellence policy to support the creative human resources as well as to strengthen and spread the corporate creativity culture providing the suitable environment for motivation and creativity in different fields of the municipal works.

’This policy aims to stimulate the performance and behavior of the employees supporting the learning culture and encouraging them for creativity and positive participation in contributing best ideas and solutions. This helps to support the innovative practices and enable the staff to take advantage from the available resources and competencies. The civic body also collects and records all creative contributions of the employees and honour their efforts,’ Lootah said.

Abdullah Abdul Rahman, Director of Knowledge Management Department said the details of policy are related to the entire development of the human resources helping them to improve and develop their individual and professional skills via all means available.

The contents of policy include the importance of policy, principles and general goals, domain of application, correlations, policy domain, development and consulting agents, timeframe and requirements of policy developments, assessment of efficiency and impact of policy, constant improvement in addition to the definitions and terminologies.

’The excellence is not an additional requirement, but it is a behavior and method of doing work differently or a tool that we take up and a question of prospects from the point of view among us. The excellence makes you go out of a familiar framework for the implementation of work with the participation of others,’ he said.

’We think rather than having excellence as a part of the curriculum in accordance with planned programmes with its concepts, applications and evaluation of results, It goes deep into the strategic, operational and individual planning, job excellence, performance indicators, evaluating opinions, performance management, organizational and individual assessment, internal and external audit, management of operations or procedures, processes and services, creativity, innovation and proposal, communication, complaints, reporting and grievances, partnership or community-based initiatives and many other concepts and applications. We believe that there is no limit for excellence,’ he added.
