• Gorgeous TV Chef Gizzi Erskine Confirmed To Cook Up A Storm At Taste Of Dubai

    Host of celebrities will star in Philips Chefs’ Theatre and Kenwood Cookery School at the city’s favourite food, drink and music festival

    One of the UK’s edgiest and most popular celebrity chefs is set to star in the upcoming Taste of Dubai and will prepare a range of dishes at the festival to inspire you in the kitchen.

    Gizzi Erskine, star of primetime British TV show ‘Cook Yourself Thin’ and author of ‘Gizzi’s Kitchen Magic’, will take part in both the Philips Chefs’ Theatre and the interactive Kenwood Cookery School from 14 to 16 March at Taste of Dubai, the city’s best food, drink and music festival, taking place at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre.

    She joins a host of celebrity chefs flying in from all corners of the globe to tantalise Dubai’s taste buds at this year’s show. Gary Rhodes, Richard Sandoval, Vineet Bhatia and Giorgio Locatelli will all star this year as well as the Giggling Gourmet, Jenny Morris, and the Spice Prince of India, Reza Mahammad, from The Food Network.

    Gizzi, who is known for her unmistakably 60s fashion style, prides herself on being at the forefront of any trend and she was one of the first to back the ‘pop-up’ restaurant concept, having opened four across London in the last three years. A contributing editor to magazines including Marie Claire, Elle, Vogue, GQ and InStyle, she has cooked at many supper clubs for celebrities.

    A graduate from the prestigious Leith’s School of Food and Wine, and mentor to Chef Joe Gray as part of The Prince’s Trust Tomorrow campaign, Gizzi is currently starring in Cookery School, a new daily show with Michelin starred chef Richard Corrigan. She is also the face of Sky Living TV channel, hosting a new series Cooks To Market which sees amateur cooks given the chance to turn their homemade food products into life changing businesses.

    Presented by Philips and running from 14 to 16 March, Taste of the Dubai is the al fresco food festival which combines the city’s best food, drinks and music. This year, the event will present a record 30 restaurants, many of which are new to both the city and the festival.

    Visitors will have a chance to sample dishes, which all cost between AED15 to AED30, from restaurants such as Armani/Amal and Armani/Ristorante, Frevo from the Fairmont The Palm, Asado and Thiptara from The Palace Hotel, No 5 Bar & Lounge in the Ritz Carlton DIFC as well as Prime 68, Izakaya and Rang Mahal from the newly opened JW Marriott Marquis.

    By simply buying a ticket to Taste of Dubai, visitors are entered into a prize draw to win the Ultimate Dining Experience worth AED15,000. The prize comprises 30 vouchers worth AED500 from every participating restaurant, including Dubai favourites Rivington Grill, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, Rhodes Mezzanine, Nobu, Gaucho, Ronda Locatelli and The Grammercy.

    The Philips Chefs’ Theatre and the Kenwood Cookery Schools are just two of the popular features at the festival, which also includes a new dark dining concept with Chef Andy Campbell, the Mumzworld.com Kid’s Area and the Entertainment Stage sponsored by Fairmont Hotels & Resorts starring a selection of fantastic musical talent.

    Standard entry costs AED60 in advance and AED80 on the door, while VIP tickets are AED220 per person in advance and AED240 on the door, providing fast track entry, access to the VIP enclosure, two free drinks at the VIP bar, three free dishes from any participating restaurant and entry into a free prize draw.
