Iraq Transport Minister Among Star Speakers At EACE 2013 In Dubai
Investment opportunities of US$50 billion envisaged in Iraq Airports
Iraq’s Minister of Transportation Hon’ble Hadi Al Amiri, accompanied by a number of dignitaries and top-ranking officials, including the chief executives of regional airports and civil aviation, will participate in the second edition of Emerging Airports Conference and Exhibition (EACE 2013), scheduled to take place at the Al Bustan Rotana Hotel in Dubai, UAE on 30-31 January 2013.
Hadi Al Amiri’s participation is considered as another sign of how much Iraq considers nation’s air transport infrastructure vital to its economy and future competitiveness. It is estimated that Baghdad has earmarked an estimated US$50bn on airport projects in Baghdad, Basra, Dohuk, Karbala, Salahaddin province etc.
Organised by Arabian Reach, the EACE 2013 is expected to feature 20+ speakers and 300+ delegates from 30+ countries and will focus on major airport projects under construction and expansion in the Emerging Markets East, Africa, of the Middle Asia, CIS & Eastern Europe as well as provide updates on the latest technologies and solutions for bringing more efficiency, safety, speed and comfort at airports. It is estimated that Emerging Markets have allocated more than US$110 billion for airport development projects over the next few years.
Among other confirmed participants so far at EACE 2013 include CEO’s, directors and senior decision makers from Abu Dhabi airport, Kuwait, Baghdad, Oman, Brazil, GMR Group - India, South Sudan, Al Najaf Al Ashraf Int’l airport, TAV group, ADPI, Aeropotos de Portugal, Sulaimaniya Int’l airport, Duhok Airport, COX’s Bazar Airport - Bangladesh, Nethaji Subash Chandra Bose Airport - India, Ghana Airports Company and Makyol Airports Company, while as Egyptian Airports Company, Nigeria Airports Company, Libya Airports Company, GVK - India, Uganda CAA, Tanzania Airports Authority, ONDA - Morocco, Bangladesh CAA, and Taiwan CAA officials are expected to join the line of speakers shortly.
Arabian Reach, in conjunction with the 2nd Emerging Airport conference & Exhibition, is also hosting the 3rd edition of Annual Emerging Market Airport Awards which will acknowledge the excellence of 26 leading companies and individuals from the airport industry. This event will be held at Al Bustan Rotana Hotel, Airport Road on 30th January 2013; from 19.30 hrs onwards.
