Arabia Essen Welding & Cutting Show To Introduce New Automated Technologies For UAE Welding Industry That Is Still 60 % Manual

An industry expert has said that 60 per cent of the welding industry in the UAE is still manual, deploying machineries and technologies that are conventional and heavily dependent on human skills and consume more power.

This revelation comes on the third day of ‘Arabia Essen Welding & Cutting 2013’, the first-of-its-kind industry expo dedicated to welding machinery and technology, being held for the first time in the Middle East, organised by Messe Essen, Messe Dusseldorf and Al Fajer Information & Services, and which has attracted a range of UAE and Gulf based industrial companies.

Satish Khanna, General Manager, Al Fajer Information and Services: “The new show has given a shot in the arm to the UAE welding industry. The four-day show is showcasing a wide range of new automated technologies.”

Vijay Kadam, General Manager , Industrial and Retail systems, Danway added: “The Arabian Essen Welding exhibition is a strategic platform for introducing new technology. This inaugural show has enabled us to introduce latest welding technology from our principals, M/S Fronius international GMBH based in Austria, to the local and Gulf industry.”

Kadam added: “There has been consistent growth in the Gulf welding industry as ‘joining of metal’ is required in all projects as well as in maintaining existing infrastructure.”

Danway is a leading UAE supplier for welding units for joining of S.S. and non-ferrous metals. The company’s technology comes with a slightly premium price, but unique in this field. It is most adaptive for robotic welding.

George Joseph, Product Manager - Welding, Danway added: “Our welding machines are light, compact and can reproduce welding results. They also can be upgraded by downloading new programmes. It is great opportunity to have a machine which can be upgraded even after years by downloading latest technology at nominal rates. We represent Fronius, which is the one of the few brands providing calibration services to all of their machines locally with prompt authorised servicing.”

At the show being held along Tekno Arabia and Tube Arabia until 10 January, 2013, at the Dubai International Exhibition and Convention Centre, Danway is showcasing latest Fronius virtual welding stimulator, a new tool in welding education and training. This display is slated to be a big attraction at the exhibition.

Danway, through Fronius digital welding (MIG &TIG) machines, holds 90% market share in Aluminium ship building in the UAE. In robotics welding, Fronius holds a share of more than 50%.

The Welding show is leveraging on the leading position of the Tekno and Tube shows which have established themselves as international events for industrial machinery, metal working, machine tools, tubes and pipes. The three shows offer an ideal platform for companies to make inroads in the booming Middle East market.

Kadam added: “The welding industry is witnessing accelerated growth, and our technical teams are always being trained with the latest technological advances, thus enabling them to conquer the toughest of technology challenges. Throughout three days, this show succeeded to be a platform to highlight automation, making it less dependent on human intervention.”
