• 10-Year Old Indian Student Wins Two Luxurious Infiniti Vehicles Plus AED 100,000 In Infiniti Mega Raffle

With the 18th edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival in full swing, more visitors to the festival are hitting the lucky trail at the daily DSF Mega Raffles that continue to create life-changing moments for people from different cultural backgrounds.

10 year-old Madhup Roshan, an Indian student residing in Dubai, has secured a sound investment for his future education thanks to his father’s sheer perseverance and determination to win a mega prize some day. Businessman Purna Chandra Rao, who has been unsuccessfully participating in DSF raffles and the Dubai Duty Free raffles for many years , finally got the call he had waited for all these years. The raffle ticket that he had bought on the first day of DSF in the name of his son, was the luckiest to be picked at the daily Infiniti Mega Raffle on 5th January.

His son, Madhup is now the proud owner of two luxurious Infiniti models, the JX35 and G25, and also gets to take home AED 100,000 in cash, as part of the incredible prize package offered to the daily winner of the Infiniti Mega Raffle. To be eligible for the daily draws, one has to purchase a raffle ticket for just AED 200 at selected EPPCO and ENOC petrol stations, kiosks at main streets, shopping malls and the Global Village.

“I had a feeling that I was going to win it that day, and even told one of my employees that I would win. The moment I got a call asking for my son, I knew the big moment had arrived. It’s great to finally win something that I had been dreaming of for so many years” said Chandra Rao, who plans to use the money that he will make from the winnings for his son’s future education and also set aside a portion of it to help needy students in India.

However, luck was no stranger to his family. Celebrating the news with him at home was his brother, who had won a luxury car at the Dubai Duty Free raffle in 1997.

Pakistani national, Shahed Ahmad got lucky in the daily Nissan Grand Raffle draw held on January 6, giving him the opportunity to choose one of 12 Nissan models - Micra Hatchback, Sunny Sedan, Maxima, Qashqai, Murano, Patrol, Juke, Altima, 370Z, Xterra, Pathfinder, or Armada – as his prize. Customers are entitled to a raffle coupon for every AED 20 spent on non-fuel purchases at ENOC and EPPCO petrol stations or for every AED 200 spent at participating retail outlets.

On the same day, in the Gold Mega Raffle, luck smiled on Sri Lankan M. J. M. Zahran who became the first winner of the weekly kilo of gold offered by Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group after buying gold jewellery for his wife, as part of DSF shopping. The lucky coupon was picked by Indian actress Ms. Neha Dhupia.

“At first I thought someone was trying to pull my leg. But the caller managed to convince me that I had won. It was something we had hoped for a long time but when it did happen, it came as a shock before we realised it was time to celebrate. DSF has made Dubai a great shopping destination and raffles like this tend to increase the popularity of the City of Gold”.

DSF visitors can strike gold by participating in the special promotion run by the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group. Shoppers will receive coupons to enter the raffle draw on spending AED1,500 or more on gold purchases at any of the participating outlets across the city. Every day, a quarter kilo of gold is being given away to one winner, while a kilo of gold awaits one shopper every week.

Customers who are entitled to a raffle coupon can also participate in a unique SMS promotion to win specially minted “EXPO 2020 Dubai Candidate City” gold coins every hour between 10am – 11pm every day, totaling 2kg of gold during DSF 2013. Alongside the gold promotion, a scratch-and-win campaign is being launched offering shoppers purchasing AED 1,000 worth of diamond jewellery the chance to win fabulous prizes worth up to AED 2m.
