• Dubai Events And Promotions Establishment Announces DSF Journalism Award 2013

    The Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment (DEPE), an agency of the Department of Economic Development (DED) and the organisers of Dubai Shopping Festival, has announced the details of the much awaited DSF Journalism Award, which is held under the patronage of His Highness, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai.

    Entries for the annual DSF Journalism Award 2013, are invited from print media organisations/journalists for six different award categories, namely, Best Feature (Local newspapers), Best Feature (Regional newspapers), Best Feature (Magazines ), Best Feature by a Promising Journalist (category open for journalists Under 28 years only), and Best Electronic Feature (online portals).The sixth category - Best Editorial Team Coverage - will be given to the editorial team that will present the best and most diversified coverage of DSF 2013 in one newspaper.

    The 18th edition of DSF got underway on January 3 and will go on till February 3 with the aim of showcasing ’Dubai at its Best’.

    Announcing the Journalism Award 2013, the DEPE Media Centre stated: “The DSF Journalism Award was instituted to recognise and appreciate the contribution of journalists for their critical role in showcasing the success and development of Dubai Shopping Festival. Ever since its inception, DSF has received overwhelming support from members of the media. The Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment considers the success and growth of the Festival year after year, as ample testimony to the tireless efforts of the media to spread awareness and creating interest in the event. In this regard, the annual DSF Journalism Award is an initiative by the Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment to honour the efforts of journalists in the UAE and region”.

    All entries will be judged on the quality of research, writing style, quality of content, creativity and overall presentation.

    The winners in each of the six categories will receive a trophy and prize money of US $ 5,000 while each runner-up will take home a trophy and prize money of US $3,000. The Best Editorial and Design Team will receive a prize money of US $ 10,000.
