• Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police Emphasises UAE is on Right Path towards Achieving Developmental Goals

    The UAE is moving in the right direction towards achievingincreased development and prosperity, according to Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police.

    His comments came during a special gathering organized on 25 July by Dubai Press Club at the Ramadan Tent in Sheikh Rashid Hall, Dubai World Trade Centre.

    Moderated by Sami Al Riyami, Editor-in-Chief, Emarat Al Youm, the session highlighted Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan’s experience as a prominent UAE leader who uses Twitter to reach out to the community. Titled ’Leaders on social networking; vulnerability and impact’, the sessionexaminedthe importance of interactingwith the society through social media. The gathering drew the participation of a large number of officials and media representatives.

    Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan praised the management strategy endorsed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. He pointed out that Dubai has positioned itself as a symbol of progress and urbanization while offering competitive services toits citizens without discrimination.

    Offering an overview on Dubai Police’s approach to achieving enhanced efficiency, Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan said that regular meetings are conducted to review performance. Additionally, Dubai Police has increased its communication with police leaders and the Rulers across the UAEthrough the last 12 years.

    Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan also warned perpetrators against attempts to shake the security and stability of the GCC region. He reaffirmed that the nations would come together to ward off any breach on their security.

    The event builds on the success of a similar gathering held last year. Furthermore, it offers testimony to DPC’s continued efforts to facilitate interaction between decision makers and senior officials in Dubai with media representatives to discuss domestic and regional issues.

    DPC’s activities during the Holy Month of Ramadan focus on topics that interest a larger section of the community in an attempt toacceleratethe exchange of views and ideas.A variety of events such as workshops, symposia, seminars, and social gatherings feature on the calendar.

    In partnership with Dubai World Trade Centre, DPC has setup a special Majlis in Al Wasl Hall at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre that will serve as the venue fora plethora of events during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
