• Kids Fashion Week Highlights Summer Trends At Deira City Centre Popular DSS Event Features Talented Children From The Local Community

    Kids Fashion Week, one of the signature events of Dubai Summer Surprises, kick started this week at Deira City Centre, a mall owned by Majid Al Futtaim Properties, a strategic partner of Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment. The event, which runs to July 14th, will feature two themed shows daily at 6:30pm and 7:30pm, and features hand-picked children from the local community.

    A key fashion highlight this summer, Kids Fashion Week at Deira City Centre will showcase the latest trends in children’s fashion from the collections of eleven international brands including Iconic Kids, Marks & Spencer, Sanrio, Okaidi, Debenhams, MAX, Juicy Couture, New Look, Tommy Hilfiger Kids, PS from Aeropostale and Mothercare.

    “Kids Fashion Week is a fun way for children to showcase the latest summer trends available this DSS. In addition to the fashion show, Deira City Centre will also host workshops for kidsto get creative and design their own accessories in a supervised and sociable environment,” said Fuad Mansoor Sharaf, Senior Asset Director - Shopping Malls for Majid Al Futtaim Properties.

    “As the final DSS event, Kids Fashion Week is a unique way to involve the entire community in the festivities in an unforgettable way and showcase the mall’s range of children’s fashion for the upcoming fall season,” added Sharaf.

    Featuring the Summer Collection, the inaugural fashion show demonstrated varying ‘’cool” looks for children, from shorts to Bermudas to tees and tanks as well as some classy Capri length pants.

    Every child enjoys dressing up during parties, which is why the Party Collection was the Fashion Week’s theme on the second day. Showcasing innovative ideas and trendy designs, kids will be seen impeccably dressed for a celebration, wearing clothes made from different kinds of fabric like cotton, silks, tussar and crepe.

    The Casual Collection which takes centre stage on the third day is designed to help children keep their dressing simple and comfortable by teaming up classy clothes and come up with a unique, casual look.

    On the fourth day, the Summer Trendy Wear will definitely impress as it encourages children to bring variety in their dressing while maintaining a look that goes perfectly with summer, giving that hip look which will make stand out amongst other kids.

    Featured on the fifth day, the Occasion Wear carries a special theme that caters to all kids, as it is aims to fit and flatter each and every child’s shape. Focusing on various types of dresses like formal wear, wedding dress, evening dress, this particular show will give useful tips on what can be worn during special occasions.

    Every child enjoys spending time on the beach, which is why the Beach Wear is the main highlight on the sixth day. Light shirts that are comfortable and yet exude class , matched up with a great pair of board shorts are some of the clothes that will be paraded by the young models during the show.

    On the seventh and last day of Fashion Week, Sports Wear will be making its appearance. With a growing breed of fashion sportswear brands, the show features wide range of t-shirts and matching jackets, as well as footwear of various styles and accessories, like sports bags.

    During Kids Fashion Week, kids are also encouraged to attend Kids Fashion Workshops, where they will be taught the basic principles of fashion design and will be given an enlightening lecture on all the preparation that happens during a fashion show.
