• Dutch Artists For Dubai Autismorganizes Fourth Yearly Art Exhibition For Dubai Autism Centre At Atlantis, The Palm

    Dutch Artists for Dubai Autism are holding an art exhibition for the second year in row at Atlantis, The Palm, to raise funds for Dubai Autism Centre.

    Scheduled to be held on Wednesday June 20, 2012, at the Spice Ballroom, the art exhibition will be inaugurated by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, H.E. Gerard Michels. Among the artists to be featured in the exhibition are WietskeHeijkoop, Desiree Rader, Liesje Philippe, Bibi Simons, Juliet Broekers, Margret Heurkens, UfukKobas, WouterKingma, Kitty Verkoelen, and Dorine Smits.

    Mohammad Al Emadi, Director General and board member of Dubai Autism Centre commented: “We are proud that the organizers of the Dutch Artists exhibition have adopted the Autism cause for the second year. They always work diligently to raise awareness and funds for the center. Their dedication and determination make us always look forward to be part of the event. We have become dependent on Atlantis, The Palm’s services and we are confident of their unconditional involvement in our cause.”

    Along with the art exhibition, a Dutch Bazaar and Fashion Show will be held in the morning. A selection of art works donated by the Dutch Artists will be auctioned in the evening wherein all proceeds will go to Dubai Autism Centre. Live painting artist Frank E Hollywood (www.frankehollywood.com)from the Netherlands will be performing as well.

    Heijkoop, one of the organizers and artist said: "For the second year we are thrilled to organize this spectacular event to raise money for the Dubai Autism Centre. 15 great Dutch Artists living in the UAE showcase their art. Besides that, they donate artworks to be auctioned for this good cause. The one-day event will be packed with special activities and we hope to raise even more money than last year. In short, a great cultural and noble event. Everyone is welcome!”

    Last year, the organisation of Dutch Artists were able to raise AED40,000 and are optimistic to increase or even double the amount in this year’s exhibition. The exhibition is supported by local and international companies on various sectors.Main sponsors are Atlantis, Gargash Mercedes, Philips, Royal Haskoning and the Dutch Association in Dubai.

    The Netherlands is known for producing many renowned painters in history, including names like Rembrandt van Rijn, Johannes Vermeer, Vincent van Gogh, KarelAppel, Mondriaan, and the more recent big name: Herman Brood, who was also a famous rock singer.
