• Dubai Sports City Ticket Office To Extend Opening Hours To Cope With Demand For Saturday’s Pakistan - England ODI At Dubai Sports City

The ticket office at the Dubai Sports City head office is set to extend its opening hours to offer greater opportunity for fans to buy tickets ahead of Saturday’s third One-Day International (ODI) between Pakistan and England at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

The office will be open from 0900 to 2000 on Thursday 16 February, two days before the match, and will also be open from 1400 - 1700 on Friday.

Ticket sales will transfer to the venue box office next to the stadium on match day with that box office opening at 0900. Saturday’s match starts at 1500 local time.

Dubai Sports City General Manager - Sports Business Maqbul Dudhia said: "We appreciate many fans that want to see matches at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, starting with Saturday’s day-night One-Day International, lead busy lives and may not be able to buy tickets on-line or make it to one of our many ticketing outlets throughout Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah beforehand.

"By extending the opening hours of our box office facility at Dubai Sports City head office until eight o’clock on Thursday night as well as opening on Friday afternoon, we are aiming to ensure that those fans have the best opportunity to get hold of their tickets.

"We extended our box office hours ahead of a weekend match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in November and it proved very popular so we are doing again now.

"Fans are encouraged to get their tickets as soon as they can as, given the match is on a Saturday, we are anticipating a substantial crowd.

"If fans cannot get to the Dubai Sports City head office, there are numerous outlets throughout Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah detailed on our website - www.dubaisportscity.ae - and there is also the option of purchasing on-line via Box Office ME, Time Out Dubai and the Ticketing Co.

"Tickets for the other matches in the Pakistan - England series hosted by Dubai Sports City, the fourth and final ODI of the series on 21 February and the Twenty20 Internationals on 23 and 25 February, are also on sale.

"Again, we urge people to get those tickets early, especially for the Twenty20 Internationals. They are selling well, experience tells us those matches are extremely popular and, given they start at eight o’clock, are at a time when the vast majority of people have finished work.

"Our extended box office timings are all part of Dubai Sports City’s aim to be fan-friendly.

"And through our use of social media like Twitter, Facebook and Audioboo we are constantly seeking to bring fans closer to the action," he added.

The Dubai Sports City head office is off Emirates Road and is situated just below the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

The ODI series concludes with the fourth and final match of the series at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday 21 February, with Twenty20 Internationals following on Thursday 23 and Saturday 25 February.

The two ODIs and two T20Is between Pakistan and England at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium are all part of 34 days of international action as DSC continues to host its biggest season of cricket since the venue opened in 2009.

The Dubai International Cricket Stadium has staged three Tests in the past four months, one between Pakistan and Sri Lanka and two between Pakistan and England, all three producing positive results.

The venue also hosted three ODIs between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, and in March 2012 the Dubai International Cricket Stadium will host matches in the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier.
