• 400 Pediatrics Professionals To Attend Tawam Hospital’s 7th Annual International Paediatric Conference

    Tawam Hospital, the host of the region’s largest annual pediatrics conference, has announced that over 400 pediatrics professionals from the Middle East and North Africa region have registered to attend its 7th Annual International Paediatric Conference that opens on Mother’s Day, March 21 2013 at the Danat Al Ain resort. The three-day conference will witness a celebration of Mother’s Day at the opening ceremony and will close on March 23, 2013.

    The 7th Annual International Paediatric Conference will reflect on recent advances in paediatrics and child health with a focus on neonatology, diabetes, trauma, cancer, cardiology, respiratory, and infectious diseases. Local experts in these areas will be supported by a panel of international speakers from across Europe and the Middle East, as well as speakers from Johns Hopkins Medicine. This year’s conference offers healthcare professionals a comprehensive update of the latest evidence-based approaches to providing care of common and not-so-common problems of children and adolescents.

    Commenting on expectations from the headline event for the pediatrics discipline in the region, Dr. Mohamed Al Malik, Chairperson of Organizing Committee said: “It has been very rewarding to experience the success of this conference over the last several years. This year’s premier gathering promises to be even more successful with over 400 health care professionals expected to attend.     Noted international pediatrics experts who will speak at the conference include Dr Paul Colombani, Dr Jane Crosson, Dr Sujatha Kannan, and Dr Julia McMillan from Johns Hopkins Medicine, USA; Dr Peter Baxter, Dr Munther Haddad, and Dr Peter Cuckow from the UK; Dr Moeedaldeen Alsayed and Dr Aayed Alqathani from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Dr Basil Fathalla from Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar; and Dr Eyed Sultan from Jordan.

    New international research will be reflected through the many papers, abstracts and case studies to be presented at the conference. General and sub-specialty pediatrics diseases, advances in the management of general pediatrics and surgery including neo-natal care, hematology and oncology and other pediatric subspecialties, will be presented. In addition, the 7th Annual International Paediatric Conference 2013 will host eight workshops dealing with the practical management of common pediatric subspecialty scenarios.
