• Tawam Hospital To Host 7th Annual International Paediatric Conference In Al Ain

    In keeping with its tradition of organising one of the largest conferences in the Middle East that addresses medical issues among children and adolescents, Tawam Hospital announces that it will host the 7th Annual International Paediatric Conference at Danat Al Ain Resort on March 21-23, 2013. More than 400 paediatric specialists will attend the conference themed ‘Best Practice in Medical and Surgical Paediatrics.’ Specialists from several national hospitals and university faculties will discuss latest developments with local experts and international speakers from across Europe and the Middle East as well as speakers from Johns Hopkins Medicine.

    The 7th Annual International Paediatric Conference offers healthcare professionals a comprehensive update on the latest evidence-based approaches to providing care for medical problems among children and adolescents. A distinguished panel of local, regional and international experts will present a series of lectures and workshops to enhance physician knowledge and skills.

    The conference will focus on neonatology, diabetes, trauma, cancer, cardiology and respiratory and infectious diseases. It will cover advances in the management of general paediatrics, neonatology and various paediatric and surgical sub-specialties. Nine workshops, showcasing the latest practical and hands-on management of common clinical scenarios, will feature at the conference including those on Interpretation of Paediatric ECG, Epilepsy and EEG, Asthma Management Devices, Metabolic Emergencies, and Neonatal Ventilation.

    57 senior paediatric specialists manage 10 subspecialty divisions at Tawam Paediatrics Centre. They specialise in general paediatrics, neonatology, cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, neurology, nephrology, haematology and oncology, pulmonology, infectious disease, metabolic and genetic diseases.

    The faculty at Tawam is involved in the academic and clinical training of the next generation of paediatricians. They work collaboratively with government authorities to develop Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) and educational materials for patients and their families.

    Tawam Hospital is part of the SEHA Health System owned and operated by Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) which is responsible for the curative activities of all the public hospitals and clinics of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
