Sharjah Witnesses The Grand Opening Of Al Jawaher Reception And Convention Centre

Sharjah has witnessed, last Wednesday the official opening of the long-awaited destination for events and celebrations; Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre (JRCC).

With the presence of the Wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qassimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, and Chairperson of the Administrative Board of Sharjah Ladies Club, Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre was inaugurated in a fairy tale like gala which included musical performances by the award-winning Orchestra “Sharq” led by Maestro Mohamad Hamami, in collaboration with the talented oud musician Nina. The orchestra charmed the audience with selective pieces of the legendary Arab singers Umm Kulthum and Fairuz. Alongside granting the attendees valuable prizes presented by JRCC and the Internationally-acclaimed Jewelry Designer Farah Khan Ali. Farah has mesmerized the audience by an exhibition of her dazzling latest fine jewelry line, hosted by the hall at the same night. Her Highness has also launched the official website of the hall, therefore officially announcing it open for business.

The ceremony was attended by H.E. Sheikha Bodour Bint Sultan Al Qassimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), H.E. Sheikha Hoor bint Sultan al Qasimi, President of the Sharjah Art Foundation, Sheikha Aisha Bint Mohammed Al Qassimi member of the Advisory Committee of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, The president and managing director of Etoile Group Ingie Chalhoub, and Farah Khan Ali. The event was also attended by a number of members of the Board of Directors Sharjah Ladies Club, and a 100 elite of society ladies.

Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre (JRCC), is an affiliate of Sharjah Ladies Club and a semi-government establishment founded by the wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, H.H. Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, with the vision of providing an all-year impeccable venue for social and corporate events. With its extravagant multi-purpose halls, and wide range of luxury services, Al Jawaher has opened its doors, to welcome your weddings, galas, exhibitions, meetings, conferences, and much more. The hall is situated opposite to Sharjah International Airport on an area equivalent to 5,500 square meters, and is efficient to accommodate up to 3,000 standing guests and 2400 in round table seating arrangement. The hall can be divided into three smaller halls of 700-1500 pax range, with an optimum soundproof system so it can accommodate different functions at the same time.

In her words to JRCC’s team, Her Highness said: “I am delighted at the milestones I have witnessed since the start of the year. Not so long ago, I attended the 30th anniversary of the Sharjah Ladies Club, and today I am happy to see the birth of a new project. My wish for the team working here and elsewhere is to always have the vision and the energy to create outstanding projects which add another achievement in Sharjah. This hall has been long awaited, and to see the opening today, I believe it is a promise to everyone that their patience has finally been awarded with a high quality service which provides everything under one roof, whether it is for a wedding, a conference or any other occasion.”

The Director of Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre, Hanan Al Mahmoud, has pointed out in her speech during the event the huge role team work had in making the dream of the hall a reality: “I will not quote numbers to describe its facilities, and will not enumerate studies and statistics which contributed to the selection of our services, but I will speak of the team spirit, and the standards we strive for. We do not stop at job descriptions, nor official working hours. All of those who lived the stages of establishing this project, have fell in love with its vision. Ordinary and conventional are none of our interests, we at JRCC, always aim to rise above to be pioneers, and look forward to dazzle and excel.”

In a step towards ensuring smooth operations and quality, JRCC has formally signed a partnership contract with Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) to provide Catering Services for all events on an exclusive basis. Al Jawaher’s partnership with DWTC is a further step towards ensuring excellence while training the staff for total independence that is planned within two years of opening. In this occasion, Mohammed Al Jumairi, Vice President of Hospitality at the Dubai World Trade Centre said: “We are honored to extend our versatile and comprehensive catering services to Al Jawaher Reception & Convention Centre, an industry peer that we truly believe will have a positive impact on raising the profile of venues in the UAE. Al Jawaher has hosted its first wedding on Friday evening, February 15, 2013, of Al Naqbi Family. The Wedding was fully equipped with the latest technology and prepared with devotion and efficiency that pleased the 1300 guests. In simple words, the launch of Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre exceeded expectations.
