• His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan Opens Tawdheef Recruitment Show

Bright chances for Emirati job-seekers as companies seek potential candidates at UAE’s leading Emiratisation fair

His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, has officially inaugurated Tawdheef Recruitment Show, the UAE’s leading careers event that supports Emiratisation.

Taking place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) until 31 January, Tawdheef features more than 100 government and private organisations looking to meet with thousands of job-seekers and make a quick start towards their goals of achieving Emiratisation targets for 2013.

More than 2,500 immediately vacant positions will be offered at the show spanning almost every industry sector including government, finance, healthcare, insurance, retail, tourism and hospitality, energy, industrial, media, recruitment, defense and security, IT, telecoms, transport and logistics.

Among the headline organisations taking part include Mubadala Development Company (Mubadala), the Abu Dhabi-based strategic investment and development company.

Mubadala and a number of its subsidiaries including Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Al Taif Technical Services, Strata, the Advanced Military Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Company (AMMROC), Emirates LNG, Yahsat, and Healthpoint are participating at Tawdheef as the company continues to offer development and training opportunities for UAE Nationals across various disciplines.
Ahmad Al Marzouqi, Vice-President for Talent Acquisition, Human Capital Unit at Mubadala, said: “A range of excellent opportunities exist at Mubadala-owned companies in exciting growth sectors such as health care, engineering, ICT, aerospace, finance and business.

“Recruitment shows like Tawdheef provide an excellent opportunity to engage with the next generation of talent, individuals whose skills and passion are essential for the long term development and sustainable future of both Mubadala and Abu Dhabi.”

The Abu Dhabi based oilfield service provider Al Mansoori Specialised Engineering is at Tawdheef to recruit 1,000 candidates across all major departments in the company while Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation has 500 positions, Emirates Aluminium 250 positions and UAE homeland security company Advanced Integrated Systems has posted 200 vacancies.

“Tawdheef is a key link bringing together Emiratis and employers under one roof,” said Hayete Jemai, Exhibition Director for Tawdheef.

“The UAE Government has played an active role in the past few years to tackle Emirati unemployment by increasing participation of UAE nationals in the workforce, especially in the private sector and we are happy that specialised shows like Tawdheef play a pivotal role in supporting the Government’s Emiratisation initiatives.”

Organised by Informa Exhibitions, Tawdheef is sponsored by Presidential Guard (titanium sponsor), National Bank of Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Police, and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (platinum sponsors); ADNOC and Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (gold sponsors); Etihad Airways and Khalifa Fund (silver sponsors), and Registration Sponsor Abu Dhabi Airports Company.

Partnering with the show is the three-day Emiratisation Summit – the only event to address the Emiratisation HR lifecycle, focusing on the three core dimensions of UAE National talent management: recruitment, retention, and professional development.

The programme features two post-summit workshops on Thursday 31 January and has a distinguished panel of Emiratisation leaders from 23 organisations, including the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, Government of Dubai, TECOM Investments and Emaar Hospitality Group.

Tawdheef is open from 10am-6:30pm daily, with the morning of 30 January from 10am – 1pm reserved for Emirati ladies only. Entrance is restricted to UAE national job seekers from 10am – 4pm, while only pre-registered Non-UAE Nationals will be granted access to the event between 4 - 6:30pm.
