• Regulation And Supervision Bureau Drive Water And Electricity Best Practice At WFES 2013

Abu Dhabi’s Regulation & Supervision Bureau (the Bureau) will be attracting attention from across the region at this year’s International Water Summit (IWS), being held alongside the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) at Abu Dhabi Exhibition Centre.

The Bureau is leading a variety of initiatives across the Emirate designed to create a more economic, efficient and sustainable water and electricity sector. It will be introducing its customer-facing offices, Powerwise and Waterwise, at the event as part of a drive to increase consumer awareness of the importance of conservation and sustainability.

“Sustainability and ‘staying green’ are pressing global issues. Resource conservation is at the top of the agenda for virtually every country worldwide. While responsibility for a greener future depends heavily on leaders and decision makers paving the way, we all have a part to play. By combining the introduction of new technologies with incentives for behavioural change and strong awareness campaigns, we believe Abu Dhabi is moving closer to a sustainable water and electricity sector,” says Nick Carter, Director General, the Bureau.

“At the International Water Summit, we will be showcasing our various tactics; from new bill designs, to energy use incentives and awareness campaigns plus top tips.”

With an estimated 30,000 global stakeholders from the energy, water and environment sectors attending this event plus the World Future Energy Summit, this really is Abu Dhabi’s Sustainability Week. Both IWS and WFES provide excellent platforms to showcase Abu Dhabi’s water and electricity strategies towards a sustainable future, which The Bureau actively supports.

Carter continues: “Key to ensuring sufficient supplies of water and electricity for tomorrow is understanding how we can safeguard today’s resources. Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, IWS and WFES provide an excellent environment for sharing best practice, instigating informative dialogue and bringing the brightest minds together to address issues that affect every single individual on our planet.”

The Bureau’s stand (number 4430) is located in the Water & Energy Nexus, opposite ADNOC and EAD, and can be visited between 10:00 and 18:00 from 15 - 17 January.
