• Dubai Sports City Launches Biggest Ever Summer Of Sport

Dubai Sports City has launched a huge period of sport participation to make sure the population of Dubai stay active during the high-temperatures of the summer months in the UAE.

The ultimate sport-inspired community, which is home to world-class indoor sporting facilities within Sports Village that many of the globe’s top professional teams use on a regular basis for international training camps, are delighted to see more of Dubai’s sporting enthusiasts take advantage.

Numerous English Premier League, international cricket and rugby teams frequently use Dubai Sports City as their international training base and describe that what is on offer at the world’s first multi-purpose sporting community is the best they have ever seen.

“Our Football Dome is the envy to so many professional sporting clubs,” Maqbul Dudhia, GM of Sports and Events Business, Dubai Sports City said. “In the summer months with the heat very high making outdoor sport activities difficult, we want to make sure Sports Village is providing everyone with a great place to play sport, be with their friends and continue being active.”

Michel Salgado, the former Real Madrid legend who is now Director of Football at Dubai Sports City explains how he could only dream of facilities such as the ones in which he now works when he was playing.

“This is an incredible environment to play sport,” Salgado said. “The Football Dome is such a good place, and then you have everything else in Sports Village around you like the ICC Academy and places for the whole family to relax.

“When I was a professional footballer, I would have been impressed with this. To play here as an amateur, or as a young child, it’s incredible.”

Dubai Sports City have now made an extra effort to make sure that their indoor facilities are readily available for people that want to remain active, play in competitive leagues and tournaments and still socialise with friends whilst playing sport throughout the summer.

Activities will include football and cricket tournaments, as well as summer multi-sport camps and the opportunity to rent out the Football Dome and facilities at the ICC Academy so you can play when you want, at facilities that have proven to be a massive success with the biggest sporting teams in the world.

“I have never been to a facility like this,” said Australia’s World Cup winning coach, Darren Lehmann. “It’s fantastic and there are no complaints from us.”
