• RTA’s Rail Agency Holds Annual Open House To Review Achievements

    The Rail Agency, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), has held its yearly employees gathering, as part of its policy and plan aimed at mustering efforts and advancement. The event examined the achievements made by the Agency in 2012 and the key plans it seeks to implement in the forthcoming future.

    Adnan Al Hammadi, CEO of RTA Rail Agency, hailed the efforts made by the sincere cadres of the Agency, who have put strenuous efforts and relentless endeavours to make such achievements. This reflected the keenness of the staff to realize the common objective of integrating mass transit modes in the Emirate of Dubai and living up to its regional standing as an important commercial and economic hub.

    During the gathering, Al Hammadi made a visual presentation where he highlighted the importance of collective thinking and team work in inducing the required change for the better, and accomplishing the tasks in hand at top quality levels and to the highest international standards. “This is what the Rail Agency cadres have achieved thanks to their attention to sharing responsibilities and ideas, which contributed significantly to scooping a myriad of local and international awards over the past years. Most notably the RTA bagged the Middle East Rails Award, Best Rail Project Award, Rail Vision Award, Princess Haya Award for Special Education, and Vital Communities Award, in addition to the listing of the Dubai Metro in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s longest driverless metro line, among other feats,” he continued.

    On the other hand, the meeting reviewed the Agency’s 2012 achievements focused on realizing the strategic goals of the RTA, which included the signing of several cooperation agreements with various entities and institutions, and supporting various community events. The 2012 also marked a significant improvement in customers satisfaction rating compared to previous years, coupled with a rise in the number of metro commuters.

    Last year, the Rail Agency carried out several marketing campaigns for the Metro & stations, and ran audit programs for the safety & environment projects of the Agency as well as the carbon footprint of the metro, contributing to curbing carbon emissions in addition to other expenditure-saving initiatives. The Rail Agency has also undertaken investment projects such as the leasing of the metro outlets, and the selling of stations naming rights. The Agency has been accredited with multiple certificates in quality management, environmental management, property management, as well as health & occupational safety management to name a few.

    At the end of the gathering, certificates of appreciation and recognition were distributed to the distinguished employees of the Rail Agency.
