• RTA Takes Part In InnoTrans Conference & Expo In Berlin

    Al Tayer selected as keynote speaker in Arab-German Council gathering

    His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), will head RTA’s delegation taking part in the International Trade Fair for Transport Technology (InnoTrans 2012) to be held in the German capital Berlin from 18 to 21 September 2012 featuring participation of 2450 exhibitors hailing from 47 countries.

    Al Tayer will also take part in the gathering hosted by the Joint Arab-German Council for Industry & Trade 2012 in cooperation with the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Messe, Berlin, and the German-Saudi Arabian Liaison Office for Economic Affairs. The gathering aims to boost the partnerships and link the businessmen in the GCC countries, Arab countries, and Germany with the representatives of companies specialized in transport industry. Al Tayer will be the keynote speaker in the gathering which will be attended by an elite bunch of presidents of German companies and businessmen from Arab countries.

    “The International Trade Fair for Transport Technology (InnoTrans 2012) is a highly important industry gathering as it brings together transport & rail specialists to showcase the latest technologies and advancements made in the infrastructure of rail networks, tunnels construction, interior train designs, entertainment systems and public buses. At the sidelines of the Expo, a Conference will be held about the international specifications of rails infrastructure, manufacturing of trains, methods of financing mass transit systems, security & safety measures in metro networks, and the delivery of quality passenger services,” said Mattar Al Tayer.

    “The objective of taking part in this Expo, which is held biannually, is to offer RTA exposure to the latest technologies of the rail industry, and access to the best expertise & international practices in the implementation, operation and maintenance of various mass transit systems & means, besides familiarizing with the security & safety measures of metro systems as well as the delivery of quality passenger services. The Expo is a great opportunity to meet with the manufacturers of trains and different transit systems besides communicating with the international experts of rail transport in particular and transportation in general.

    “The RTA serves a wide spectrum of the community and is keen on delivering services benchmarked against the highest global standards in keeping with the sprawling development seen by the Emirate of Dubai in various fields,” added RTA Chairman of the Board and Executive Director.

    RTA participation in the event will also take shape in a large stand showcasing thrilling details depicting the specialty and comprehensiveness of public transport systems in Dubai Emirate, and the growth chart of public transport sector in Dubai Emirate, including an intriguing description of the past & present development phases of mass transit systems; which encompass the Dubai Metro, state-of-the-art public buses and a wide range of marine transit modes. The Stand will also envisage the future of public transport in Dubai, and screen the programs & initiatives introduced by the RTA to encourage residents & visitors to migrate from using private cars to public transport means such as Wojhati, Awselni and Sharekni.

    The Stand will also have a dedicated slot for showcasing the MENA Centre of Transport Excellence; which was established to capitalize on the huge success made by the 59th UITP Congress & Exhibition hosted by Dubai in April 2012, culminating the partnership between the RTA and UITP. Such partnership also provides for holding a Public Transport Congress & Exhibition in Dubai biannually for 10 years in collaboration with the Dubai World Trade Center.
