• RTA Dubai Website Gets a Facelift

From inception, the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) had always been keen on ranking various community segments, particularly beneficiaries of its multiple services, at the top of its priority list with the aim of delivering these services in a handy, speedy and transparent manner that saves their time & effort, and ultimately boosts RTA’s contribution towards propping up the endeavours of the Dubai e-Government in this regard.

In support of this strategic drive, the RTA has re-launched early this month its newly dressed website featuring a host of added features at the top of which is centricity on e-services users among the beneficiaries of the online service packages delivered by various agencies & sectors of the RTA.

“The newly designed RTA website is characterized by its enhanced performance, improved end-user response time thanks to the use of cutting-edge technologies designed for upgrading websites, smooth surfing, and more emphasis on services through designing a new user interface that makes it easy to navigate and toggle between information & services. A thorough facelift is made to the way the website contents are displayed and oriented towards focusing on services in which users take interest, and displaying the core information on the webpage itself,” said Dr. Aysha Al Busmait, Director of RTA Marketing & Corporate Communication.

“We have re-set the classification of services on offer by aligning them with the needs & uses of the public, provided a comprehensive directory of RTA services fitted with a quick search engine for the required service, and displayed services as per RTA agencies or alphabetical order. Services provided have been divided into four groups depending on the type of user and user’s need for the service. The first Group is for permits & NOCs; which comprises traffic services, traffic safety, roads & traffic signage, right of way, and public utility services. The second Group covers transportation services; which includes Nol cards, Dubai Metro, public buses and marine transit modes. The third Group relates to the services of road users comprising driver licenses, vehicle services, Salik and parking services. The fourth Group is dedicated to business services including driving institutes, numbers of commercial plates, car-renting & lemo, and commercial transportation.

“The RTA attaches paramount importance to streamlining the information provided online, and at the same time addressing the aesthetic aspects to have the data displayed in the best and easiest manner in a bid to upgrade the website display to make it eye-catching. This will make it easy for users to surf the web contents and avail a short-cut access to the required information. It also provides a detailed elaboration of RTA services in a way befitting all users, besides offering an extensive database about service processing presented in a simple narration, and providing a search engine for inquiring about information through asking the question: “How can I …………….?”.
