• RTA Inks Coop Agreement With Transport For London

    Al Tayer Delivers A Lecture About Challenges & Achievements Of Roads & Transport Infrastructure In Dubai

    Roads & Transport Authority: Mohammed Al Munji:The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has signed a cooperation agreement with Transport for London (TfL) to support and step up the cooperation and exchange of information in the field of mobility & transport, and provide advice in areas that include design for stations, rail rolling stock, buses and taxis. The Agreement also caters to addressing the requirements of special needs persons in public transport means & services, training engineers in the fields of mobility & transport and cooperating in compiling studies to assess the level of services rendered to the public.

    The Agreement was signed on behalf of the RTA by H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the RTA, who is visiting the UK in response to an invitation from the President of the Institution of Civil Engineers in Britain, and was signed on behalf the LfT by H.E. Dr. Michèle Dix, Managing Director, Planning. The Agreement was signed in the presence of the CEO of Rail Agency Adnan Al Hamadi, Director of Development & Corporate Performance Dr. Khalid Al Zahid, Manager of Communication & International Relations at the Office of the Chairman of the Board and Executive Director Rawda Khalifa Al Mahrazi, and Projects Advisor at the Office of the Chairman of the Board and Executive Director Dr. Khalid Ahmed Hamdi.

    Al Tayer was delighted with the signing of the Agreement with the LfT as it has a long experience in public transport. He stated that the signing of this Agreement was in the context of RTA’s efforts to adopt the best global practices in the field of mobility & Transport, and benefit from the expertise of the advanced countries & cities in this line of the industry, and TfL had a great global repute and extensive experience in mass transit field.

    "We in the RTA are continuously endeavouring to capitalize on global practices in roads and transport sector with the aim of enriching RTA projects. Over the past few years, RTA undertook a host of giant projects at the forefront of which comes the Dubai Metro, roads & bridges network and upgrading the public transport means. Currently, we are aspiring to benefit from the expertise of the advanced countries in order to identify the best international practices applied in the operation, maintenance, integration and efficient management of various mass transit means,” added Al Tayer.

    Dr. Michèle Dix was impressed with the advanced infrastructure of roads & transport in the Emirate of Dubai and was extremely delighted with the prospective cooperation with the RTA to the benefit of both parties.
