RTA Opens Sophisticated Metro Training Center
The center comprises 9 training halls, accommodates 150 employees

The Rail Agency, Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has opened yesterday a sophisticated training center in the premises of the Main Operations Control Center at Al Rahidiya equipped with all relevant technological systems needed for offering practical training to the Dubai Metro staff. The opening took place in an event attended by the CEO of RTA Rail Agency Adnan Al Hammadi, Director of Rail Operations Ramadan Abdullah, Director or Rail Maintenance Ali Abdul Qadir and several members of the Metro Operator, Serco Company.
“In keeping with the Strategic Plan of the RTA in general and Rail Agency in particular as regards the training of the staff of the Dubai Metro; which is shaping as the prime mass transit mode between various areas of Dubai Emirate, we, as an integrated work team, were keen on establishing an advanced training center built to the highest global technological standards. The Center encompasses 9 holes capable of accommodating 150 new employees currently deployed on the Red Line of the Dubai Metro who will be posted to various jobs in the Green Line; which will be up and running in August this year,” said Al Hammadi.
“The training halls have been prepared in an immaculate manner to fit the training purposes on each aspect related to the metro, and each hall has been equipped with various technological devices along with the associated visual display monitors, and WiFi internet connectivity besides providing all IT-related aspects in order to offer trainees with the required deliverables at the highest quality standards.
“The Training Center will continuously hold various training courses related to different aspects of operations, maintenance, security, health and safety in addition to all supporting services such as human resources, finance, and contracts & procurement.
“The Training Center is an integral part of the Agency’s plan to train and qualify its employees working in the Dubai Metro since launched in 2009 as well as the new ones who will join the Green Line set to be opened in 2011. It will ensure proving the staff with advanced work manuals, and carrying out diverse and integrated training programs addressing all requirements and contributing effectively to supporting job competencies.
