Liwa Date Festival
The Liwa Date festival is held every year to celebrate the date palm harvest season, it’s an opportunity to explore the Liwa Oasis and sample the variety of fresh dates and local culture on offer. The annual event, in its fith year, is a 9 day long festival that is a very traditional gathering and aims at facilitating the business of dates. Come and enjoy different varieties of dates, market stalls selling perfumes, chocolates, clothes and cultural items and to entertain the children, visit our playground. Other activities at the festival include handmade crafting, traditional games, poetry evenings and competitions being held throughout the festival.
