Dubai Women's Run
Head to Dubai Festival City in November to take part in the eighth annual Dubai Women's Run. The event is driven by the UAE Athletics Federation and supported by Dubai Sports Council. Under the patronage of His Highness Major General Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Chairman of Dubai Police & Public Security, Dubai Women’s Run aims to motivate and inspire women. The event takes place during Dubai Fitness Challenge, the month of activities designed to encourage people to get fitter, and to make Dubai the most active city in the world.
What began as a small initiative in 2010 towards encouraging women to run has grown to become one of the region’s top women’s-only events. Rooted in its values to promote empowerment, community spirit and adopting an active lifestyle; the Dubai Women’s Run looks set to attract up to 10,000 women this year, in a choice of 5km or 10km run, with a first place prize of AED5,000 in both categories up for grabs. Entry is open to those aged 14 or above.
