DIB Celebrates UAE National Day
Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) today commemorated the 41st anniversary of the founding of the United Arab Emirates with a special ceremony held at the company’s head office in Dubai. The ceremony, which was attended by the bank’s senior management, featured a visual history of the Union told through a collection of photographs, along with traditional Emirati cultural displays.
The event commenced with a recitation of the Holy Quran followed by the UAE’s national anthem. Speaking at the ceremony, Abdulla Al Hamli, Chief Executive Officer, DIB, highlighted to attendees the bank’s long history and the vital role it continues to play in the country’s economy.
Al Hamli said, “41 years ago, guided by the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the leaders of the emirates joined together and created a country that today is viewed by the world as a model of progress and prosperity. The histories of the UAE and DIB run parallel to each other. As the nation started its journey towards progress, DIB – with the support of the late Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum - also embarked on its mission of offering Shariah-compliant alternatives to conventional banking services. These pioneering solutions were truly groundbreaking at the time and DIB continues to be the leader in Islamic financial services innovation. Today, we celebrate the extraordinary growth of the UAE and this is what continues to inspire us in our efforts”.
He also commented that the UAE National Day event is an opportunity for both the country and DIB to celebrate and reaffirm our commitment to future growth.
