"My Life In The UAE"
Photo Competition by Emax invites people to capture and share their "Life in UAE" via photography
Emax, the largest electronics store in the Middle East, part of Landmark Group, in collaboration with the International Institute of Art & Photography, the only dedicated photography institute in Knowledge Village, Dubai, and 105.4 Radio Spice is inviting UAE residents to participate in “My Life in the UAE” - a photo competition in line with the UAE National Day that encourages people to capture and share photographs that best symbolize what the ever-changing face of their life in the UAE means to them.
The contest, which will launch across the UAE in conjunction with UAE’s 41st National Day on 2nd December 2012, will run until 3rd January 2013, and will invite participants to capture and share powerful images. These could range from architecture to arts and culture and from people & family to nature & wildlife. The photographs need to be accompanied by a photo caption that best captures the essence of the image.
Based on the photo’s relevance to the campaign, four winners will be announced daily in addition to 30 finalists being chosen by the end of the campaign. Out of these 30 finalists, three winners will be selected by the panel of judges.
The focus of the selection criteria is relevance to theme and composition and not necessarily the sheer picture quality. Therefore, anybody with any kind of camera be it IPhone, Small Digital Camera or DSLR is encouraged to participate.
The three winners will be announced at a prize ceremony and will be honored by the panel with professional camera equipment from Emax and professional photography courses from the International Institute of Art & Photography to facilitate and further their talent.
“This campaign is a platform for everybody to cherish and appreciate this dynamic country’s culture, tradition, heritage, nature and people and to pay a tribute to it through these photography treasures.”
“Through this project we look forward to encouraging the emerging talent in the region and to making a positive contribution to society,” said Neelesh Bhatnagar, Emax CEO.
Avs Kumar, Director, International Institute of Art & Photography, “We are very pleased to partner with Emax to encourage photography skills and offer workshops to the people of the UAE. We will continue to explore ways in which we can add value to similar projects across the UAE.”
Vaishali Rodrigues, Head of programming at 105.4 Radio Spice commented, “We are extremely thrilled to support a platform that invites people to explore their creativity and imagination and which aims at showcasing solidarity to the region. We, at 105.4 Radio Spice, are committed to promoting such campaigns that educate the people of the UAE about the unique facets of the country and through this campaign we hope to extend our message to a wider audience.”
During the one month ‘Shoot @ Sight’ campaign, upon purchase of any Bridge or DSL camera from any of the Emax stores across UAE, complimentary photography workshops will be provided by IIAP. (Terms and conditions apply)
