• DEWA Celebrates UAE 41St National Day Under The Theme, ’Spirit Of The Union’

    HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) today inaugurated the celebrations of the UAE’s 41st National Day under the theme of ‘Spirit of The Union,’ in the presence of DEWA’s senior officials, staff and customers, at its headquarters. The celebrations were held for two days from Wednesday to Thursday.

    “I extend my sincere congratulations to HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the Members of the Supreme Council, the Rulers of all the Emirates, Deputy Rulers, Sheikhs and all Emiratis,” said Al Tayer.

    “Our commitment to the nation, derived from our sense of belonging and our loyalty to the UAE’s visionary leadership, motivates us to work with dedication to achieve the development and success of our beloved country. We are following in the footsteps of the nation’s founding fathers, who spared no efforts to establish the union that has brought prosperity and well-being to all Emiratis,” added Al Tayer.

    “On the occasion of the UAE National Day, I urge all people and organisations to participate in the celebrations under the theme of ‘Spirit of The Union,’ as it represents the unity of the Emirati people and their leadership under the flag of the union,” said Al Tayer.

    DEWA’s celebrations featured formation of a people picture of the number 41 for the National Day by a number of employees from DEWA. The celebrations also included poetry sessions led by Rashid Sharar with participation from the poet Saeed bin Dre and the poet Rashid bin Ghalaita, a performance by the Al Harbiya band and traditional costume contests for children of staff, Emirati food, henna paintings, talent exhibition, a handicrafts exhibition with 30 stands, the Tamkeen exhibition for orphans and a workshop for the children of Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre.

    Several delegates representing various governmental departments, schools and universities visited DEWA’s headquarters and participated in the celebrations including Dubai’s Municipality and Rawdat Al Manhal School.

    Recently, DEWA planted the ‘Union Tree’ in its headquarters in response to the initiative of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to plant the Union Tree in government departments, public places and at homes. The event was attended by DEWA’s senior officials, staff and customers.
