TRA Sponsors The Ministry Of Culture, Youth And Community Development’s "Outstanding Website Award"
The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) announced its sponsorship for the fourth edition of the “Outstanding Website Awards,” being organized by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development (MCYCD). The Information Security workshop for the participants in the Outstanding Website Award took place at TRA’s Dubai office on 12 November 2012.
The award this year includes three workshops, organized by the aeCERT team at TRA to discuss issues such as engineering, browser security and protection of personal computers.
H.E. Salem Al Shair, Deputy Director General for Information & E-Government Sector said: “We are glad to sponsor the MCYCD’s Outstanding Website Awards, part of our broader efforts to engage with UAE youth and encourage global best practices in cyber security from our aeCERT team.”
The Outstanding Website Awards recognize nationals and residents who develop websites serving the culture, youth and community development objectives in line with Arabic identity and heritage.
The TRA will also be part of the judging panel for the awards and will be promoting the .ae Domain Administration (.aeDA), which reached the 100,000 registrations mark recently.
aeCERT aims to support the nation’s ICT infrastructure and protect it from cyber-attacks by building a secure and safe cyber culture, fighting cybercrime while promoting safe online behavior.
